Franklin Innovative Challenge

Process

Dear F&M Student:

On behalf of the Entrepreneurship Club at F&M, we are pleased to inform you that we are starting the 2nd Annual Franklin Innovation Challenge in the Fall Semester this year.  The purpose for the earlier start is to provide more opportunities for mentoring and planning in order to make the 2nd year even better than the first.  While you still have until February 10, 2012 to finalize your team, idea and prepare your initial submission, we have started a registration process now so that you can be made aware of, and participate in, alumni-directed informational sessions.  At these sessions, dates/times/locations to be announced, we will have alumni come to F&M and advise you on how to develop your business plans, research your ideas and prepare your presentation so that you will be ready for the Challenge!

Register now by going to our Registration Page on the website and completing the information requested. in order to be on our email list and be notified of these great opportunities for networking with alumni and learning first-hand how to research your business idea, prepare your business summary, business plan and final presentation.  These informational sessions will take place between November 2011 and January 2012.

In the 1st Annual Franklin Innovation Challenge, we had 89 submissions, representing over 150 F&M students and 20 different F&M majors/minors.  These talented students came from eight countries and 10 states.  The finalists were awarded $9,000 in prize money and all participants benefited from their opportunity to work directly with F&M alumni.

We had over 30 alumni volunteer as mentors and judges for the event and are planning on having even more this year.
